In this episode:
- We speak to guitar luthier, Bruce Clay of Rare Bird Guitars.

- And in the ‘Check it out’ segment of the show, we listen to the guitarist that secretly shook the electric guitar world and inspired millions of players, whether they know it or not. The incredible Uli Jon Roth.

That 440 pedal is rocking.
I listened to this interview. I know Bruce and I can tell you this interview is a crock of, well you know. He doesn’t have any grandkids, he isn’t married. I worked at his so called shop for a few years just to learn what I could. None of those names he drops ever pulled in. The vintage guitar shows in Colorado he talks about were a pipe dream. The were filmed with a camcorder in his workshop by a friend and never went anywhere. I remember people would show up mad as hell cause he either wasn’t finished with a guitar they promised or he had chopped up their guitar into something he thought it should be when he was doing repairs. If you get one that he built when he wasn’t drinking, you got a good one. Otherwise all bets are off. He likes the beer, amazing he has all his fingers. So buy at your own risk and believe about a third of the BS he will throw at you.
hey man… you know that Bruce Clay went out of business and ripped off many, many people… myself included. That and… his guitars are pieces of crap. He took my money and tried to make good by giving me a 20 year old guitar he made… it was a POS. I know Bruce very well, I have been to his home outside of Atlanta several times during the rip-off, ahem, I mean building process. You may want to vet your interviewees more thoroughly… there are a lot of nice, honest guitar luthiers out there. Don’t waste your time on this dead beat hack.
Thanks.
